You couldn’t b more wrong in your editoral. The smaller units work great compared to the mess of big gonvernment. I live in Great Neck. We love our parks. They make our homes much more desirable. They r run by 3 Commissioners. Their pay totals about 50G for all three. If the Town of North Hempstead or County took our parks the would charge more than that to run them (and ruin them) The county is so bad their parks aren’t staffed on Mondays and Tuesdays. If we don’t want to pay high taxes for the schools we would defeat the budget. I could go on but if u really want the real lowdown there is a meeting to save local control at the E.M.Baker School Feb.5th. You need the real truth not Weitzman propaganda. Ask Michele Schimmel she’ll tell you.
